Damien Duff is urging Republic of Ireland teammate Richard Dunne to join him at Newcastle United in the summer.

Defender Dunne, 28, is set to quit Manchester City.

The Geordies have made contact and Toon midfield ace Duff, 29, said: "I love Richie. He gets better all the time.

"I'd welcome him with open arms."
