Drogba's Chelsea comeback ends in double disaster

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has apologised for his behaviour during last night's Carling Cup defeat to Burnley.

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has apologised for his behaviour during last night's Carling Cup defeat to Burnley.

The Drog could be hit with a lengthy ban after throwing a coin back at Burnley yobs and giving them a disgraceful one-fingered salute.

The Ivory Coast star, who was booked by ref Keith Stroud, said: “I tried to celebrate the goal and I received some things at me.

“The big mistake I did was to throw it back so if someone was hurt I just want to apologise.

“This is not something I should show and I want to apologise. It was an incident in the heat of the moment and I regret it. It was just a mistake and nothing more.”

Burnley thugs threw a coin at Drogba as he was celebrating his 27th-minute strike but the Chelsea man hurled it back into the crowd after raising his middle finger towards the visiting fans.
