Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has apologised for his behaviour during last night's Carling Cup defeat to Burnley. The Drog could be hit with a lengthy ban after throwing a coin back at Burnley yobs and giving them a disgraceful one-fingered salute.
The Ivory Coast star, who was booked by ref Keith Stroud, said: "I tried to celebrate the goal and I received some things at me.
"The big mistake I did was to throw it back so if someone was hurt I just want to apologise.
"This is not something I should show and I want to apologise. It was an incident in the heat of the moment and I regret it. It was just a mistake and nothing more."
Burnley thugs threw a coin at Drogba as he was celebrating his 27th-minute strike but the Chelsea man hurled it back into the crowd after raising his middle finger towards the visiting fans.
