According to Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti, Didier Drogba's penalty miss in Sunday's 1-1 draw with London rivals Tottenham 'doesn't matter'.
The Ivory Coast international had his injury-time spot kick saved by Spurs keeper Heurelho Gomes but Ancelotti was able to shrug off the miss after his side played brilliantly despite coming up short.
"I think that we deserved to win; we were very close to winning," he said.
"We missed a penalty but it doesn't matter.
"He was not happy obviously but he showed a good reaction in the second half.
"He played a fantastic game and was very important for us."
And Ancelotti explained why regular penalty-taker, Frank Lampard, did not step up to the duties.
"Lampard was not able to shoot because he did not have a lot of confidence because he was out for a long time," the Italian said of the midfielder who was back for his first match since August 28.
"Drogba took the responsibility to shoot."
