Didier Drogba is ready to sign a new four-year contract with Chelsea worth a massive £25 million.

The Mirror says the Ivory Coast striker missed the club's pre-season tour of the Far East and Russia to receive intensive treatment on a long-standing knee injury at the club's training HQ at Cobham.

Drogba said: "I am confident talks with Chelsea will lead to a positive resolve about my future."

During his rehabilitation Drogba has been in constant touch with new boss Luiz Felipe Scolari and reiterated his desire to remain at Stamford Bridge.
