Chelsea striker Didier Drogba was both hero and villain as he brought the Blues level at Tottenham but then missed a late penalty in the 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane. Chelsea and Spurs stay in fourth and fifth respectively in the Premier League table after an absorbing encounter in North London.
Chelsea had the perfect opportunity to end their four game winless streak in the league when they were awarded an injury time penalty when keeper Heurelho Gomes clattered into Ramires.
Substitute Drogba then saw his penalty palmed away by the Brazilian keeper who had a mixed afternoon.
Earlier he gifted Chelsea an equaliser when he fumbled the Ivory Coast international's effort over the line.
It would have been a most unlikely three points for the defending Champions who had fallen behind in the first half to Roman Pavlyuchenko's ninth goal of the season.
Gomes then took centre stage and seemed determined to hand Chelsea a victory, but then came his injury time redemption.
