The Sun says one of the reasons behind Drogba's attack on the club and its billionaire owner Roman Abramovich - the Blues have not honoured a promise to give him a pay rise.

After last season's FA Cup final when Drogba banged in the extra-time winner against Manchester United, the hitman was assured a wage hike in recognition of his sensational season.

But, five months on, Chelsea's bigwigs have yet to fulfil their promise and that - coupled with Jose Mourinho's exit - led to Drogba's explosion.
