Chelsea icon Didier Drogba has paid tribute to skipper John Terry.

Terry will carry on in blue for at least one more season after agreeing a new 12-month extension to his contract last week.

The 34-year-old has started all 29 of Chelsea's League matches and been one of the best defenders in the top flight.

Drogba has applauded the club's decision to keep the centre half at the club and said: "It's logical when you see the way he's performed this year and the way the manager is happy with him.

"You can see he has the desire to carry on playing and being the best defender. It's deserved and I'm really happy for him."
