Didier Drogba has contacted Belgian starlet Romelu Lukaku to convince him to move to Chelsea. A host of clubs are looking at the 17-year-old but the Blues are understood to be leading the chase having been on his trail for over 12 months.
Lukaku is a self-confessed Chelsea fan and now Drogba is looking to help his employers by letting him now how much he is wanted at Stamford Bridge.
"Yes, I called him," Drogba told Voetbal Magazine.
"I received his phone number from Vincent Kompany. 'You should sign for Chelsea,' I told him."
Since Chelsea first targeted Lukaku, his reputation has rocketed as he has become a firm fixture in Anderlecht's first team and finished the season with 15 goals to become the top scorer in the Jupiler League.
Despite being just 16 at the time, Lukaku was handed his first cap by Belgium in March this year.
