Chelsea striker Didier Drogba's concussion couldn't have come at a worse time.
Drogba, 33, who received get well messages from all over the world last week, will continue to spend the next few days under observation by Chelsea's medical staff, but is unlikely to figure in next Saturday's game at Sunderland.
"We are continuing to monitor Didier, but he was able to do some light training in the gym last week," said a spokesman.
Meanwhile the Ivorian is also facing a fight for his future at Stamford Bridge as new coach Andre Villas-Boas looks to younger players. The biggest threat to Drogba comes from £20million 18-year-old Romelu Lukaku and the fast-emerging Daniel Sturridge.
