Drogba double downs Arsenal
Submitted by Anonymous on Sun, 02/07/2010 - 18:13
A Didier Drogba brace was enough for Chelsea to brush aside Arsenal 2-0 at Stamford Bridge and return to the Premiership summit.
All the goals came early in the first half and whilst the Gunners dominated for long periods they rarely troubled a dominant Blues rearguard.
The hosts took the lead when John Terry flicked on a corner for Drogba to volley home at the back post.
Arsenal responded well but were caught out on a swift break that ended with a thumping finish from Drogba.
Chelsea keeper Petr Cech saved a Cesc Fabregas free-kick, before Drogba almost claimed a hat-trick, but hit the bar from another set-piece.
Chelsea move two points clear of Manchester United and put a question mark over Arsenal's title challenge.

@ jaqwell: yea u dint make fun of ne team names, and arsenal cant b written out of it yet...ill agrre wid u ther....but at th moment th signs r ominous fr them as chelsea and man utd r both in top form at th moment....and liverpool has clicked in2 gear now as well, so liverpool coming 3rd is nto an impossibility either...arsenal will hav 2 play th rest of th season with caution and change their tactics in some way so that they stop conceding the amount of goals they r, and also tht they start scoring against th big teams...i suggest rather than bombing all their players up front and going attack attack attack, to change slightly and try improving their defense and going counter-attack....worked fr chelsea and man utd dis season against arsenal....chelsea and man utd both executed their game plans perfectly in th game, and arsenal didnt...chelsea still favorites, but man utd lukin gud as well!!!

You'll Never Win With Kids
Well, i don't really care if Arsenal lost to the Chelsea game.. As long as Man Utd doesn't win the title, i'm satisfied enough. -.-
However, the fact that we have "easy" and "average" games after the Liverpool matches means that we still have a chance, while Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool still have matches against each other.. Hopefully lady luck will shine upon us and win the rest of the matches of the season while the rest drop points..
And take note of the fact that i did not make fun of any of the other teams' names -.-..
