Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic has paid tribute to club legend Didier Drogba.
The Serbian played alongside the Ivorian striker for the final time on the weekend but hopes the Stamford Bridge hero will one day return to Stamford Bridge.
Matic told Chelsea TV: "I am really proud because I was in the same squad as him and I played in his last Chelsea game.
"Didier deserves to be a legend of this club and I hope he will come back one day."
Drogba announced his decision to leave the west London club prior to kick-off against Sunderland on Sunday. The 37-year old was then carried off the pitch by his teammates, after being substituted in first half, to rapturous applause by the Blues fans at The Bridge.
