Doyle concedes Wolves spirit on downer before Man City shock

Wolves striker Kevin Doyle admits their self-belief level needed victory over Manchester City.

The result was a huge one for flagging Wolves.

Doyle said: "We played well last week against Chelsea and decent the other night against Manchester United.

"This time we got the result which makes a big difference. It is just little things, concentration and things like that, and we got it right. We played well, they huffed and puffed.

"We were not just physical. We played football as well which was nice."

Doyle admitted: "I won't lie. The belief takes a knock when you are not winning. There is only so long you can keep going saying 'we played well and got beat'.

"The win is a massive boost for us. No-one expected us to win and hopefully it has surprised a few people.

"It didn't surprise us but it is still a big confidence shot for us."
