Stewart Downing says Aston Villa players must focus on Stoke City tonight and not worry about their new manager dramas.
Gerard Houllier was unveiled as new boss on Friday but will not be in charge against Stoke tonight, or Bolton on Saturday.
Winger Downing, 26, said: "Personally, I just get on with it and it's for others to sort out the management.
"People might see it as a distraction but, as players, we must just get on with our jobs."
Kevin MacDonald will continue as caretaker boss tonight looking to improve on his record of two wins from three League games after succeeding Martin O'Neill.
Downing added: "Gerard Houllier's a very good manager with a very good record. We'll just keep playing the same way until he comes."
