Stewart Downing says West Ham United players must take responsibility for their poor recent form.
Downing has experienced the enormous pressure of a relegation fight before in his career.
"I've been in this situation before, first at Middlesbrough in 2009 and then at Aston Villa to a lesser degree," he told the London Evening Standard. "A few of the other lads have also experienced this sort of pressure as well, Kevin Nolan at Newcastle, for example. I look around the squad and I see players who can cope with it.
"I think, having been there before, you know what to expect. You know you have to keep going because things can change very quickly. It's important everyone sticks together because when it's not going as well as it should be, it's easy to throw your arms in the air, start pointing and blaming people.
"It's up to us, no one else. The manager picks the team but it's us who have to go out there and get the results.
