Downing prepared to adjust game to save Liverpool career

Stewart Downing is prepared to adjust his game to stay in the plans of Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.

Downing has been warned he's playing for his future at Anfield by Rodgers.

He told Absolute Radio: "Well first and foremost, you know, obviously I was brought here as a winger, so that's where I'd like to play, but, you know, you need to be adaptable to different positions. I enjoy, you know, playing on the left. As long as I play I'm not really fussed where I am in the team, but if he wants me to play left-back or left wingback whatever it is, then, you know, I'm happy to do that. I just want to play."
