West Bromwich Albion caretaker boss Keith Downing had no news yesterday over their managerial pursuit.
He said he is none the wiser on when a new head coach will be appointed, despite speaking with chairman Jeremy Peace.
Downing said: "We'll carry on until told otherwise, there's no date on it. He said, 'Keep up the good work'.
"The chairman's aware of the speed this needs to be done. He's aware of the importance of January. The club have four or five people judging who's the best one to be selected.
"So we have to trust them to get the right one in."
