West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has been heavily criticised for fielding a youthful side with very little Premier League experience in the 5-0 FA Cup defeat at Championship side Nottingham Forest. And winger Stewart Downing, one of the few experienced players in the side, admits the Hammers showed their naivety.
"We kept going forward when maybe we should have kept the scoreline down, and they punished us," the England winger tells the Hammers' official website. "The young lads did really well, but the last 15 minutes wasn't good enough from us."
