Stewart Downing admits Aston Villa are in a relegation battle.
Fed-up fans vented their anger at boss Gerard Houllier after the shock 1-0 home defeat to Wolves on Saturday.
That leaves Villa just a point off the drop zone after a run which has seen them take just five points from a possible 18.
Downing said: "We have got a job on our hands now. We have got to get some good results.
"Wolves did a good job on us but sometimes you have to hold your hands up and say you weren't good enough on the day."
