Douglas Costa urges Skakhtar Donetsk not to play hardball with Chelsea

Douglas Costa is hoping Shakhtar Donetsk do not price him out of a potential move to Chelsea this month.

The 24-year old Brazilian attacking midfielder has appeared on the radar of the Premier League leaders who see him as a contingency if they happen to miss out on Fiorentina's Juan Cuadrado.

Reports suggest Shakhtar want around £30million for Douglas but the former Gremio has asked the Ukrainian outfit not to play hard-to-get with the Stamford Bridge side.

"I put my situation to them and they said they would try to help me. Now, we'll see if it comes to an agreement," he said.

Regarding his potential move to Chelsea, Douglas added: "To play at Chelsea is a dream for any player... but really, what catches my eye is the coach.

"He is very intelligent and has been a successful coach wherever he's been. This is one of the things that would make me happy to play at Chelsea."
