New York Red Bulls are highly unlikely to pursue two big-name players this offseason according to the NY Post.
Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole and QPR midfielder Park Ji-sung, currently on loan at PSV Eindhoven, are both being heavily linked with the MLS club.
But sources close to the 2013 MLS Supporters' Shield winners say the Red Bulls may not even go after any Designated Players during the winter as they strive to settle their salary cap issues within the squad.
Both England international Cole and South Korean great Park would be paid outside the cap if signed as a DP but reports suggest that New York sporting director Andy Roxburgh may go after a 'more cost-efficient one that will help on the field rather than just a big name to help in the boardroom.'
