Double from Man Utd's van Persie sends Holland to Brazil

Holland have qualified for the 2014 World Cup courtesy of a 2-0 win over Andorra on Tuesday night.

Manchester United star Robin van Persie scored a second-half double as The Oranje maintained their eight-point lead over the remainder of Group D which gives them an unassailable advantage with two matches remaining.

van Persie opened the scoring for Louis van Gaal's side five minutes into the second half when he fired home from 25 yards before slotting home from close range not long after.

The victory has Holland sitting on 22 points from a possible 24, having won seven and drawn one of their eight outings, easily ahead of second-placed Hungary.

The result allowed the Dutch to join UEFA giants Italy in the 2014 finals alongside hosts Brazil and Asian qualifiers Japan, Australia, Iran and South Korea.
