The Mexican teenager was in dazzling form at the Nou Camp, but his brother, Jonathan, admitted he was awestruck to be playing in the same team as his idols.

"Gio was nervous when he left the house for the Nou Camp," said Jonathan, who is a member of Barca's youth team, "although when he arrived he soon forgot all the people who were in the stands and was able to focus on the game.

"He said to me that it was a dream for him to be playing next to Ronaldinho and Henry, who he has photos of at home. The night could not have gone better for him."
