Dorrans looking to remain fit for West Brom

On the weekend, Graham Dorrans made his first Premier League start for West Bromwich Albion since March and now he plans to stay in the first team.

The Scottish midfielder was sidelined with an ankle injury late last season but has worked his way back to full fitness with some bit-part roles off the bench so far this term.

On Sunday, he was dangerous in the 1-0 away win over Norwich City and now he is looking to remain in Roy Hodgson's plans by staying fit and performing consistently.

"I haven't had many minutes this season but hopefully I've got myself fit and I can stay in the side," Dorrans told the club's official website.

"I had a bad injury and I'm still working on that to get it stronger. I need to get myself that little bit fitter and that little bit sharper.

"But it was my first game back in the Premier League so hopefully I can keep improving and getting fitter and get 90 minutes in.

"You only get match fit by playing matches and that's what I want to do.

"I think I did okay at Norwich but there is a lot of competition for places and everyone will be chomping at the bit to get back in.

"But hopefully I've done enough to keep my place."
