LA Galaxy captain Landon Donovan was delighted with the performances of Brazilian duo Juninho and David Junior Lopes on the weekend.
Midfielder Juninho returned to form with a brilliant goal in the 3-1 win over Portland Timbers whilst Lopes, on debut after being acquired from Chivas USA during the week, was solid in defense and both players were vital to the victory according to Donovan.
On Lopes he added: "You can tell he's a competitor and he was frustrated at Chivas that he wasn't playing. We're glad to have him.
"Hopefully as they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure. For us, he was fantastic. It's hard to see why he hasn't been playing. I thought he was great tonight and I think he's only going to get better when he's more comfortable.""He's starting to find his form again. I thought tonight he was back to the old Juninho. And his goal was obviously very important, but a great goal," he said of Juninho.
