Donovan rues missed chances as LA Galaxy go down again

LA Galaxy's poor start to the 2012 MLS season continued on Saturday when they lost 1-0 at home to New York Red Bulls.

Joel Lindpere struck in the 19th minute to give the visitors maximum points at The Home Depot Center but it was the home side who created more chances with five shots on target to one.

Galaxy skipper Landon Donovan indicated his side were wasteful but feels that things will soon turn for the good.

"It was pretty much their only chance. We sort of let them off the hook by falling asleep on that play," he said.

"And that' frustrating, but that's how this game goes sometimes. That's what you can't have when teams play that way.

"I don't think we're playing poorly. I don't think anyone could watch that game today and say we didn't give good effort, we didn't play hard, we didn't play with endeavor and try to do things the right way.

"It just didn't come off today and we've had a few of those this year. It's frustrating."
