Donovan, Magee sing praises of new LA Galaxy teammate Keane

LA Galaxy captain Landon Donovan and fellow attacking midfielder Mike Magee have sung the praises of new arrival Robbie Keane.

The Republic of Ireland international, who joined the Galaxy from Tottenham Hotspur last week, scored on his MLS debut as the Galaxy defeated San Jose Earthquakes 2-0 at The Home Depot Center on the weekend and his performance was not lost on his new teammates.

"He's a different class," Magee said. "We all knew that anyway, but to see it live, without any training, just getting off a flight is amazing. It's going to be amazing saying one day I played with this guy."

Donovan was a little less excited than Magee but feels the former Liverpool and Leeds United striker will provide even more for the team as he settles.

"When he gets settled a little more, when he's not less than 48 hours from getting off a flight, you'll probably see a little more energy," Donovan said. "But I thought he was in great spots; he did well with the ball.

"It was clear [Friday] what type of player he is and how he moves. Like I said when David (Beckham) got here, good soccer players are easy to play with. He's a very good soccer player. For all the goal scoring he does, his passing is good and the way he uses the ball is very good also."
