Landon Donovan was thrilled with his first goal for Everton in their victory over Sunderland. The 27-year-old says his experience on Merseyside has been very different to the one in Germany last year during his loan spell with Bayern Munich.
"It is a great feeling to get my first goal here especially because the team has won," Donovan told evertonTV. "They have made feel at home here.
"It was a lot different last year when I went to Germany. It took me a while there to get going but I feel better here."
The forward got his Everton account up and running in the 19th minute at Goodison thanks to a left-footed strike 12 yards out.
Donovan says he is starting to feel at home now with the style of play.
"I have got more comfortable over the weeks learning where to be and how to run. Bainesy played a good ball to Tim and we know in most of those situations Tim is going to win the ball.
"Louis made a great run across and opened up a hole for me and from there I just hit the target."
