Donovan and Howard are confident for US ahead of Costa Rica clash

US International Players Landon Donovan and Tim Howard are confident ahead of their World Cup qualifier in Costa Rica. Speaking to reporters after their first practice in Costa Rica it was evident that the squad are confident ahead of their mid-week clash.

"We feel like a more talented team and we feel like we're a better team," Landon Donovan said. "If we want to become a team that can compete on a real level at the World Cup, these are the games we need to win. We have a good opportunity.

"We have shown over the last two years since Bob Bradley has been coach that we have a resiliency that we come and grind out results," goalkeeper Tim Howard said after practice at Estadio Ricardo Saprissa. "Since Bob Bradley has taken over, we've gone to places we haven't gotten results and gotten results. We flew through the last round and here we are again top of the group. It should give you confidence. If it doesn't there's something wrong. We're just trying to feed off of that."
