Mauro Zarate's move to Velez Sarsfield was made official on Tuesday night.

The Argentine forward was unveiled by his boyhood club without the permission of his employer Watford.

Zarate was recently recalled from a loan spell with UAE club Al-Nasr.

The club said on their website: "Previous announcements were entirely premature as the agreements were only reached today."
