Sunderland forward Emanuele Giaccherini has joined Serie A club Bologna on a season-long loan move, the Premier League club have confirmed.
The 30-year-old Italian international moved to the Black Cats from Juventus in a £6.5million move in July 2013, but has failed to make an appearance for the Wearside club this season.
Giaccherini scored four goals in 32 appearances for the Black Cats in the past two seasons.
