Sunderland have secured the double signing of Aidan McGeady and James Vaughan.
Republic of Ireland winger McGeady joins from Everton after seven years with the club.
Vaughan, a fellow ex-Evertonian, spent last season with League One outfit.
Sky Sports claims that the Black Cats paid £900,000 for Vaughan and £250,000 for McGeady.
"Aiden's career speaks volumes. He's been an exceptional player and was an outstanding performer at Preston last season," said manager Simon Grayson, who worked with McGeady at Preston North End.
"James has good experience and he scored a lot of goals last year," Grayson added.
"He's a player who will come into the squad and give us something different because I think we were missing a striker with a physical presence - and he certainly brings that attribute.
