Simon Grayson has signed a three-year contract with Sunderland.


The Preston North End manager left his post at Deepdale to join the recently relegated Wearside club.

Grayson led the Lilywhites to promotion from League One in 2015 and has finished the last two seasons 11th in the Championship table.

Grayson said: "I'm delighted and excited by the opportunity to manage this club.

"I want to bring the good times back. Sunderland are so fortunate to have such tremendous support and I want to give these fans a team they can be proud of."
