Scunthorpe United have signed Newcastle United striker Ivan Toney on loan until the end of the season.

Toney, 21, spent the first half of the season on loan at Wigan, scoring four goals in 24 league appearances.

Wigan boss Paul Cook said: “Ivan is no different, he's an absolutely smashing lad who was a pleasure to work with.

"He was probably getting a bit frustrated at his lack of minutes which is fully understandable."
