Real Sociedad have completed the signing of Manchester City goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli.

Rulli, it appears, will not play for City for six years, despite his contract being bought from Maldonado earlier this summer.

Instead, the Argentine will stay with La Real until 2022, before City have the option to take him to England.

It's suggested the complicated deal was cobbled together because of the English FA's reluctance to deal with third party ownership deals.

For many in Spain, Rulli's transfer has been dubbed 'the most complex for a foreign player in LaLiga history'.
