Real Madrid have sent wing-back Abner on-loan to Estoril.

The Brazilian, signed with a view to put pressure on Marcelo and eventually succeed his countryman, will enjoy his first experience of a European league, hoping to return to Real Madrid in due course.

He joined La Fabrica three years ago but two serious knee injuries at the start of his first two seasons stalled his trajectory.

Season 16/17 was the campaign in which he played most; 21 games and 11 as a starter, but without the regularity necessary to recover his best level.
