Rayo Vallecano have signed Stoke City midfielder Gianneli Imbula.

Imbula joins Rayo on a season-long loan after spending last season in France in a similar arrangement with Toulouse.

The midfielder had been in Madrid since Monday as the two parties took their time to thrash out personal terms.

Imbula is fit to go straight into Rayo's starting XI this weekend.

Rayo have made nine signings so far this summer and expect to close a deal for Real Madrid striker Raul de Tomas in the coming hours.
