Middlesbrough have announced the signing of defender Jordan McGhee on a season-long loan from Scottish Premiership side Heart of Midlothian.

The 19-year-old, who is a regular for the Scotland U21 team, is initially expected to play with the Boro U21 side and then make his way to the senior squad.

The Premier League returnees have the option to make the deal a permanent one at the end of the 12-month loan spell.
