Manchester United are closing a deal for Benfica whizkid Umaro Embalo.

The Sun is reporting United have signed 16-year-old Embalo, dubbed the "new Angel Di Maria".

Jose Mourinho will bring the Guinea-Bissau-born youngster to Old Trafford after the star "surprised everyone and everything" in Portugal.

Embalo has been on United's radar for the best part of a year now, with the club failing in a £4million bid in the summer.

Real Madrid had also been hunting the star - with reports suggesting they bid around £9m for his services.

Mourinho and his agent Jorge Mendes are thought to have played a major role in convincing Embalo to continue his progression in England.
