Lazio have signed Olimpico goalkeeper Silvio Proto.

The 35-year-old made the move as a free agent and put pen to paper on a three-year contract. Proto underwent his medical at the Paideia clinic in Rome on Wednesday.

The Belgian will be the new understudy to Thomas Strakosha, as Federico Marchetti has joined Genoa.

Proto has Italian roots and spent his entire career in Belgium save for the 2017-18 season in Greece with Olympiacos.
