Inter Milan are closing the signing of Atletico Madrid fullback Sime Vrsaljko.

Atletico announced on Tuesday that an agreement over a fee for the Croatia international had been settled. Vrsaljko has since passed his medical.

Inter will pay €6.5m for the defender's loan, with a buying option in the deal set at €17.5m.

Atletico announced earlier in the day: "Our club has reached an agreement with Inter Milan, pending the formalisation of the documents and the relevant medical examination, for the transfer of Sime Vrsaljko.

"After two seasons defending the colors of our club, during which he demonstrated his talent and sacrifice, we want to wish him all the luck in his new stage at Inter, which has an option to buy the player."
