IFK Gothenburg sports chief Mats Gren has confirmed Manchester City's signing of Max Diskerud.

Umbro had jumped the gun, announcing the deal yesterday and Gren has since confirmed an agreement is in place. Diskerud has been playing on-loan at New York City FC.

"I knew they would move him (Diskerud) from New York City to Manchester City. It's easier to get away from MLS, which is a complicated system, that way. Now he has moved within the City Group," Gren told Sportbladet.

Gren was also asked if Diskerud could return to IFK on-loan.
