Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain is in Turin undergoing a Juventus medical, it is being reported.
Sky Sports says Juve and Higuain have agreed personal terms.
Napoli and Juventus remain in negotiations about a potential deal for the 28-year-old Argentina international but the buyout clause is almost £79m.
Higuain, who joined Napoli from Real Madrid in 2013, has two years remaining on his contract in Naples. He ended the 2015/16 season as the top scorer in Serie A with 36 goals.
Both Arsenal and Atletico Madrid have been credited with an interest in Higuain's services this summer but it would appear Serie A champions Juventus are now poised to win the race for his signature.
Today in Melbourne, Tribalfootball.com's Andrew Slevison attended Juve coach Max Allegri's media conference, where he was asked about the Higuain situation.
"I don't talk about transfer market news," he said after his side played against the Melbourne Victory at the MCG.
"The club is going to talk about that.
"The only thing I can talk about tonight is the game."
UPDATE:
Gonzalo Higuain has completed his Juventus medical ahead of signing a four-year deal.
Napoli and Juve are now haggling over terms, though the Bianconeri are expected to meet Higuain's €94million buyout clause.
Juventus, on the brink of selling Paul Pogba to Manchester United for a world-record €120million, have decided they are willing to do so and have agreed a contract worth €8million a year with Higuain.
All that remains is for the Old Lady to inform Napoli that they will meet Higuain's clause and they can confirm the biggest transfer in Serie A history.
