Crystal Palace are ready to deal in Maidstone United U16s player Bivesh Gurung.

The Croydon Advertiser says Gurung is to take up a scholarship with Crystal Palace, it has been announced.

The midfielder has been offered terms with the Eagles after a series of trials over the space of five months, having been scouted while playing for his hometown club Maidstone and the county representative side.

And the youngster has thanked the Kent club in a message on the Stones' official website, adding that he cannot thank Maidstone enough for the experience and opportunities they have provided, helping him to secure a place at a professional club.

Maidstone have said that the midfielder is set to start his full time scholarship with Palace in July.
