DONE DEAL: Crystal Palace sign PSG midfielder Yohan Cabaye

Crystal Palace have announced the signing of PSG midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

The former Newcastle man will again link up with Palace manager Alan Pardew, who initially took Cabaye to St James' Park in 2011.

Although the fee is undisclosed it is reported to be a new club-record deal for the Eagles, eclipsing the fee they paid for James McArthur from Wigan last season.

And Cabaye, 29, admitted his relationship with Pardew played a big part in his decision to move to south London.

"I wanted to come and play for Palace because there are some really strong players here," he told the club's official website.

"They finished very well last season and I think they can compete to get into the top eight. I also know the gaffer and have worked with him before and I'm confident with him.

"I want to do my best for him because he's made a big effort to get me to come here, as well as the chairman, so I have to say a big thank you to both of them."
