Celta Vigo have snapped up Uruguayan striker Maxi Gomez.

Gomez arrives from Defensor Sporting of Montevideo for around €4 million.

The 20 year-old has signed a Celta deal to 2022.

In a statement, Celta confirmed: "He has been defined by different analysts not only as the best player of the Apertura Tournament, but as the player with the most potential in the South American country."

Gomez is expected in Vigo this week for a medical and to sign his contract.
