Bristol City have secured the services of Hordur Magnusson.
The 23-year-old Icelandic defender has joined the Championship club from Italian champions Juventus on a three-year contract.
Magnusson has played five times for the Iceland national team and was on the bench for all five of his nation's Euro2016 matches.
Bristol boss Lee Johnson was thrilled to land the talented centre-back, who can also operate as a left-back, who has been on loan with Cesena and Spezia over the past three seasons.
"We've been looking to bring him in since the end of last season, but with (loan club) Cesena reaching the play-offs and then his commitments with Iceland in Euro 2016, it has taken time to get him across to Bristol," said Johnson.
"I've shown him around Failand, Ashton Gate and the city with his family. He also met with (majority shareholder) Steve Lansdown.
"It's a deal I'm really excited about because he has attributes to play as high as he wants. I'm sure it will take him time to adjust to the English game.
"He's very mobile, quick and smooth on the ball. He's 6ft 3in and has a great left foot, and at the age of 23 has plenty of time to mature as a player."
I'm delighted to have signed for @bcfctweets and can't wait to pull on the shirt! Now the hard work begins
