Bologna have signed Ajax left-back Mitchell Dijks.

Dijks, who was with Norwich City on-loan last season, joins Bologna on a five-year contract.

"Bologna FC 1909 announces the registration of the defender Mitchell Dijks," a statement on the club's website confirms.

“He has signed a contract until June 30 2023."

The Dutch Under-21 international also spoke to the website.

"It's the start of a new adventure for me, I really can't wait to get started and test myself in the Italian Serie A.

"It's a great opportunity for me, I can assure you I will give my best and I'll try to show my qualities and make my new fans proud of me.

"I've already come to Bologna twice in recent months, I discovered a beautiful city and I've already noticed the passion of the people.

"I'll return in late June with a huge desire to become part of the Rossoblu family."
