Atletico Madrid have confirmed Yannick Carrasco and Nico Gaitan have been sold to Dalian Yifang.

Both midfielders will move to Dalian Yifang and begin a new adventure in the Chinese Super League and both said their goodbyes at the Atletico Madrid training facility on Monday morning.

The Chinese club had previously made an offer to the former Benfica winger, yet he was initially unreceptive to a move to the Chinese Super League.

However, a renewed assault from Dalian Yifang has tempted the player, with it clear he no longer had a role to play within Diego Simeone's squad.

After passing his medical on Monday morning, Gaitan will commit to a contract set to run until June 2020.

For Carrasco the transfer comes as much more of a surprise, as he is only 24 and has performed at the very highest stage in his career to this point.
