Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout has signed with Fiorentina.

The Viola have landed the Frenchman for €7m.

“Fiorentina announces that outright signing of the player Jordan Marcel Gilbert Veretout from Aston Villa Football Club," a statement on the Viola's website announced.

“Veretout, born born in Ancenis [France] on March 1, 1993, has worn the shirt of Nantes, Aston Villa and Saint-Etienne over the course of his career.

“Last season, in a Saint-Étienne shirt he played 43 matches between Ligue 1, the Europa League and the Coupe de France, scoring four goals and providing five assists.

“The French midfielder has also represented all of the French youth national teams, Under-20 World champions in 2013.

“The new Viola player has signed a four-year contract with an option for a fifth."
