Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll has begun talks with Wolves over extending Jason Shackell's loan until the end of the season. Shackell joined on loan back in August, but is due to return to Molineux in the new year.

O'Driscoll told the club's official website: "We are in talks with Wolves.

"They - like Sheffield United with Billy Sharp - would like to recoup their outlay. That's their prerogative, not helping Doncaster Rovers.

"However, I think both parties are sensible to know that him going back and playing reserve team football is not going to help them realise some value.

"He's doing very well for us and I think that everybody is now looking at their options. I think that Jason would be delighted to stay for the rest of the season, so who knows what might happen."
